Wildfire Smokeless Coal

High-heat smokeless coal for open fires and multi-fuel stoves.

Wildfire is a premium smokeless coal blended from anthracite, bituminous coal and petroleum coke — each chosen for a specific reason. The anthracite brings intense, sustained heat. The bituminous coal gives it an attractive, lively flame. The petroleum coke helps it catch and hold. The result is a fuel that burns hotter and longer than most alternatives, with a fire that actually looks like a fire.

It's approved for use in Smoke Control Areas, so if you're in a town or city where house coal is banned, Wildfire is a legal option that doesn't compromise on performance.

Is it right for your appliance?

Wildfire is suitable for open fires and multi-fuel stoves. If your stove is wood-only (no ashpan, no air controls beneath the grate), stick to our kiln-dried logs — smokeless coal needs a multi-fuel appliance. If you're unsure, check your appliance manual or look for the multi-fuel label.

How does it compare to Brazier?

Both are approved smokeless coals, but Wildfire runs hotter and produces a more vivid flame — it's the better choice if heat output is your priority. Brazier is a reliable everyday fuel at a slightly lower price point. If you want the best performance from your fire, Wildfire is the one.

Key facts

• DEFRA-approved — suitable for use in Smoke Control Areas
• Blended from anthracite, bituminous coal and petroleum coke
• High heat output with a natural, attractive flame
• Long burn time — fewer top-ups needed
• Ready to Burn certified
• Suitable for open fires and multi-fuel stoves

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place off the ground. The bags are robust but not weatherproof long-term — a covered store or coal bunker is ideal. Damp fuel is harder to light and produces more smoke.
